Configuring endpoints for Traffic Manager with the geographic routing method

As mentioned earlier, creating any Traffic Manager profile looks similar except for the routing method. So, in this section, we'll cover how to configure endpoints for traffic geographic profile. The following are the steps to be followed for configuration:

  1. Navigate to the Traffic Manager profile and open it
  2. Under SETTINGS, click on Endpoints, then click on Add in the endpoints blade
  3. A new blade will pop up wherein you need to specify the following:
    • Type: Here, select the type that would suit your needs.
    • Name: Here, specify a name for the endpoint.
    • Target resource type (for Azure endpoints): Here, select the type you want according to your needs.
    • Target resource (for Azure endpoints): Here, select the resource for which you want to use this endpoint.
    • Geo-mapping: Here, specify the regions from which you want the traffic to be sent to this endpoint taking into consideration that you can specify a country within this region. In a nutshell, ensure adding the regions from which you expect traffic.

All the other types of endpoints can be added to the geographic Traffic Manager, the same as performance Traffic Manager endpoints, except with this type you will note that you need to specify the Geo-mapping for each endpoint type.
