Perform the following steps to add an Azure endpoint:

1. Navigate to the Traffic Manager profile, under SETTINGS, and click on Endpoints. A new blade will be opened, as shown in the following screenshot:

2. Click on Add, and a new blade will be opened wherein you need to specify the following:
   • Type: Here, the Azure endpoint would be selected. There are three types, which are as follows:
     • Azure endpoint: This will be used for Azure services, such as App Services and public IPs
     • External endpoint: Here, you can specify external endpoints that are not even hosted in Azure
     • Nested endpoint: This can be used to combine different Traffic Manager profiles together to create a customized scheme for traffic
   • Target resource type: This option is available only for Azure endpoints wherein you need to specify the type for which the Traffic Manager will distribute the traffic. There are four types, which are as follows:
     
     • Cloud Service: It's a PaaS service and is still there for supporting the backward compatibility with classic Azure services that still use the ASM model
     • App Service: This includes Web Apps, mobile apps, and so on
     • App Service slot: This is similar to the slots used by web apps to make a staging environment
     • Public IP address: This type can refer to VMs or Load Balancers with public IP addresses
   • Target resource: Whatever the type you select, you need to specify it by clicking on it, and a new blade will be opened from which you need to specify the resource
   • Add as disabled: You can select this option to disable the endpoint for now, keeping in mind that you can enable it later

3. Once you click on OK, the endpoint will be added within a minute.
