Azure Traffic Manager has many benefits, and can help you achieve the following:
- High availability: The Traffic Manager ensures that the client request is getting directed to a healthy endpoint. Therefore, in the case that an endpoint goes down, it automatically failovers to a healthy one.
- Better responsiveness: The Traffic Manager can support the traffic distribution to a service endpoint that exists in different data centers across the world. As a result, Traffic Managers can direct the traffic to an endpoint that is nearest to the client, which will provide better responsiveness.
- Maintenance with zero downtime: Whenever you want to maintain some endpoints, you can do so, because traffic will be directed to the other endpoints; as a result, you will be up and running properly.
- Distributing across Azure and external endpoints: You can distribute the traffic not only to incorporate Azure services, but also to incorporate services that exist on your premises or in other clouds.
