Wrapping Up

Using Kotlin with Spring is a marriage made in heaven, since both promote low ceremony and high essence. Kotlin code is highly concise, expressive, and less error prone. The developers behind Spring chose to support Kotlin as a first-class citizen because of several benefits the language offers. Kotlin classes are final by default, but a special Kotlin-Spring plugin takes care of opening classes at compile time, based on Spring annotations. The fluency of Kotlin shines when we create Spring controllers and services. With Kotlin, you can deliver the same features you expect from your Spring applications, but with fewer lines of highly elegant, type-safe code.
