About the Authors

Chris Buono is a multimedia guitar madman who shows no sign of slowing down. After leaving a successful five-year post at the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Chris has been burning rubber ever since.

Not walking away from the classroom, Chris continues to be the professor he was meant to be at the electronic music production and DJ institute Dubspot, as well as at Ocean County College. In addition to teaching, Chris has been busy with myriad other projects, including writing books, playing gigs, and producing DVDs. Following his debut release with Cengage Learning, M-Audio Guide for the Recording Guitarist, Buono co-authored House of Worship Sound Reinforcement before rolling into Your Ableton Live Studio. Returning to the stage, Buono linked up with Indian electronic fusionist Karsh Kale, helping to spread Kale’s innovative sound across North America. With TrueFire, Chris has thus far produced 10 guitar-centric DVDs at a dizzying pace, helping to put his playing and instruction in front of nearly 600,000 YouTube viewers. To keep up with Buono’s beautifully hectic to-do list, visit his Web site, http://www.chrisbuono.com.

Throughout the hoopla, one common denominator remains constant: Ableton Live. Since randomly loading a demo of Live 4 for GTR, Chris has been a Live evangelist, preaching the word of Ableton. From pioneering the technology curriculum at the National Guitar Workshop that included Live to bringing Live to the stage all over North America, Buono’s work is almost symbiotic with the application. Live is the engine that runs the audio backdrop for Karsh Kale’s live performances with his live band, Timeline, which includes Chris and his death rig of guitar effects. It’s been the vehicle for Buono’s backing track production and triggering in virtually every hour of his multifaceted TrueFire DVD catalog. It is with Ableton Live that Chris Buono reinvented himself—and now it’s your turn.
