Acknowledgments

This book is here simply due to several individuals who never gave upon the idea and worked tirelessly to make it happen. First and foremost, we'd like to thank Jonathan Gennick, our editor at Apress for letting us run with this idea. Jonathan's patience and understanding made this process absolutely delightful. Also at Apress we'd like to thank Anita Castro, the Coordinating Editor, for keeping us on the ball. We'd probably still be working on Chapter 3 if it weren't for her.

A lot of the information in this book is due to the ever-friendly and extremely helpful people at Microsoft. Their passion and excitement for this technology is contagious, and that made it so much more enjoyable to work with them. We'd like to thank David Robinson, Liam Cavanagh, Cihan Biyikoglu, Mike Flasko, Michael, Pizzo, and Jack Greenfield for their wonderful support and tireless help with all our questions.

We'd also like to thank our friends and other community people who listened to us over the past year and provided valuable and much-needed feedback. Joe Healy is and always will be near and dear to us. Joe, you rock. Mark Scott was a guy we talk to frequently and let us bounce ideas of him. Thank you both. Jared Kirkpatrick, while not directly involved with this book, was an awesome sounding board. Jared's love for technology is delightfully infectious.

Nothing in this life is worthwhile without the love and support of family. As such, Scott would like to express deep thanks to his wife and children for their endless love, support, understanding, and patience (lots of it). Scott would also like to express profound appreciation to Herve for his friendship. Through life you meet people who have a deep impact on your life. Scott has been lucky enough to find a small handful of those, and Herve is one of them.

Herve would like to specially thank his family for support and understanding, and specifically to his amazing wife who always knows how to support him with a smile. Herve would also like to thank Jim Mullis, a long-time friend and partner who has an amazing ability to listen and breathes technology so much that his passion drives others to higher standards of perseverance.

Last but not least, Herve would like to thank Scott Klein for his amazing guidance through natural leadership skills, humility and friendship.
