You would think that with so many dependencies, setting up a DSC pull server would be hard. Actually, it's a perfect example of using DSC to configure a server! We are going to get a jump on Chapter 3, DSC Configuration Files, here by showing an example DSC configuration file that configures a server as a DSC pull server. Again, don't worry if some of this is still not clear; we will cover how to make DSC configuration files in more detail later.
You do not have to set up a pull server to use DSC with this book. You can complete the rest of the book's examples using push deployments. This is up to you to do if you want. We cover setting it up here so that we can explain how it works.
