Rama Ramakumar has been a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, since 1976 and the PSO/Albrecht Naeter Professor since 1991. He has been the director of the OSU Engineering Energy Laboratory since 1987. Dr. Ramakumar holds memberships in several professional and honorary societies. He was granted the title of regents professor at the June 2008 meeting of the OSU Board of Regents. He has been primarily involved in renewable energy and energy systems research. His research and teaching interests are in energy conversion, renewable energy, power electronics, and system reliability. He has authored a textbook entitled Engineering Reliability: Fundamentals and Applications published by Prentice Hall in 1993. He was named a fellow of IEEE in 1994 for his “contributions to renewable energy systems and leadership in power engineering education.”
