In the last chapter, we looked at the future development of the Java platform, beyond Java 11. We looked at what is planned for Java 19.3 and 19.9, and what further changes we are likely to see in the future. We started with a brief overview of the JEP and covered existing JEPs and ongoing special projects.

Key to the future of the Java platform is the Java community. That is the focus of this chapter. We will discuss the Java community and ways developers can contribute to the Java platform. Specifically, we will cover the following Java community-related topics:
