Custom Printing with Excel

Office Excel 2007 is another solution to custom printing requirements, particularly for Outlook 2007 table views. For example, assume that you want to print all of your Outlook 2007 contacts but you want to arrange them in a different order from what the Table style offers in Outlook 2007 and use different formatting for some of the columns. The solution is to simply copy the contacts to Excel 2007, format and rearrange as needed, and print by following these steps:

  1. Open the Outlook 2007 folder containing the items you want to print, and then choose a table view. This example uses the Phone List view, as shown in Figure 27-24.

You can easily copy data from an Outlook 2007 table view to Excel 2007.

  2. Select the items that you want included in the printed document, and then press Ctrl+C or choose Edit, Copy to copy the items to the Clipboard.

  3. Start Excel 2007, and then press Ctrl+V or choose Edit, Paste to paste the data into Excel 2007, as shown in Figure 27-25.

Copy data to Excel 2007, and then arrange, format, and print.

  4. Rearrange columns, apply formatting, and otherwise adjust the layout as needed, and then print the worksheet.
