This chalk whip paint is light and fluffy, similar to puffy paint, and it’s made with just a few ingredients. As an added bonus, it smells wonderful when you use scented shaving foams (try raspberry)! Create as many paintings as you like with this paint; this recipe is so forgiving, you don’t even have to measure the ingredients!
1. Place each stick of chalk into a separate bag. Squeeze out as much of the air as possible before sealing the bag.
2. Using a hammer, crush the chalk into a fine powder. Be sure to use a surface that won’t be damaged by the hammer, and check often for holes in the bag. Placing an old towel under the bag will help catch any accidental leaks. Repeat for each color of chalk.
3. Fill a small bowl with shaving foam. Add a spoonful or two of glue. Add as much or as little chalk powder to the mixture as you’d like. The more powder you add, the more saturated the color will be.
4. Stir gently to combine. As you mix, the shaving foam will lose some of its volume. Don’t overmix, and the paint will stay puffy. Repeat for each paint color.
5. Use your chalk whip paint right away. Sturdy paper will stand up better to this paint. Chalk whip paint gives a three-dimensional effect to your art. Allow finished paintings to dry completely on a flat surface before handling or hanging them.
