This fruity-smelling frozen chalk looks and smells good enough to eat, but don’t let it fool you. This is one treat you don’t want to eat! Luckily, you’ll have just as much fun using it to make vibrantly colored chalk creations, and unlike most ice pops, they won’t spoil your dinner. Keep a stash handy in the freezer for the perfect way to spend a hot summer afternoon.
1. Pour water into a mixing bowl. While stirring, slowly add the cornstarch and mix until completely dissolved. If clumps form at the bottom of the bowl, keep stirring until the mixture has a smooth consistency.
2. Add the packet of drink mix, and stir until blended.
3. Immediately fill each compartment of the ice pop mold, insert the sticks, and place the mold in the freezer for at least 3 hours. If the mixture sits too long at room temperature, the cornstarch will settle at the bottom of the bowl. Simply stir the mixture again to reincorporate it.
4. Once your ice pop chalk is completely frozen, remove it from the molds. If the chalk is sticking, let the pops sit for a few minutes or place the mold in a shallow bowl of lukewarm water until the chalk slides out easily.
5. Your scented ice pop chalk is ready to enjoy. Take it outdoors and decorate your sidewalk and driveway with your colorful and aromatic chalk creations. As with regular ice chalk, the colors will become more vibrant as they dry.
