About the Authors

Scott Shaw has worked with SQL Server for over 10 years in a wide-range of challenging industries. He specializes in SQL virtualization and managing large SQL Server enterprise environments. He also speaks frequently on the role of SQL Server in Healthcare. He has a Masters of Arts in English and Comparative Literature as well as a Masters of Science in Management Information Systems. He works as BI Architect for the Saint Louis based consulting firm Oakwood Systems.

Scott is actively involved in the SQL Community. He has presented at SQLSaturdays, SQLRally, Saint Louis User Group and Virtual PASS chapters. He also has written articles for SSWUG, SQL Server Central, and MSSQLTips. In 2011 he was named as a finalist for the RedGate DBA of the Year Award.

Scott currently lives in Saint Louis and, when not working with SQL Server, he is waiting for instructions from his wife and kids.

Kathi Kellenberger is a Sr. Consultant with Pragmatic Works after eight years as a database administrator and almost two years with Microsoft in sales. Kathi enjoys writing and speaking about SQL Server having published over two dozen technical articles, writing or contributing to four books and speaking at many SQL Server events. In her spare time, Kathi loves spending time with family and friends, singing and cycling.
