Adding Slides to Your Movie

Your movie doesn’t have to be all action. You can add digital pictures—photographs from a digital camera, for example—to your video clips to create title slides, or add still photographs to supplement the video clips. Or you can create a movie file using your still pictures and some music to produce a slide show with an accompanying soundtrack as part of the movie. You can also edit pictures or create them from scratch to add title slides for your movie.

Add Slides

  1. Start Movie Maker from the Start menu.

  2. Click the Show Or Hide Collections button if the Collections pane isn’t displayed. Import the photos or other pictures for the slide show into the Collections folder you want to use.

  3. Choose Options from the Tools menu to display the Options dialog box, and, on the Advanced tab, specify the length of time you want each picture to be displayed. Click OK.

  4. Drag the pictures onto the Storyboard in the sequence in which you want them displayed. Add any transitions and/or video effects. Use the Timeline view to add any audio or to modify the length of time an individual picture is displayed.

  5. Save the project, and, after reviewing and editing the slide show, publish your movie.
