When you’ve amassed a large number of media files, it can be difficult to keep track of them and even more difficult to figure out how to organize them. Media Player comes to your rescue with two tools that can relieve your frustration: Playlists to help you go through your files and decide which items you want to group together; and Auto Playlists, with which Media Player assembles various playlists depending on the criteria you specify.
Point to Library, click the down arrow, and choose Create Auto Playlist from the drop-down menu to display the New Auto Playlist dialog box.
Click to specify the criteria you want to use to assemble the playlist.
Click each underlined item to specify conditions for that criterion.
Click to add limitations to the criteria you’ve added to the list.
If you added an item that you’ve now decided you don’t want to use, click the item, and then click Remove.
After you’ve created an auto playlist, it’s included in the list of all your playlists, so make sure that you use a descriptive name to remind yourself about the parameters you used to create the auto playlist.
If you no longer want a playlist, right-click it in the Navigation pane, and choose Delete from the shortcut menu.
In the Navigation pane, right-click a playlist, and choose Edit In List Pane from the shortcut menu. Drag the music up or down to change the play order. Locate some music you want to listen to that isn’t in your playlist, and drag the music onto the List pane. Right-click a piece of music in the playlist, and choose Remove From List from the shortcut menu. When you’ve finished modifying the playlist, click Save Playlist.
