Creating a connection

Use the following steps to create a connection to Google BigQuery:

  1. At your Qlik Sense hub, use the Create new app option and give an appropriate name to the new application.
  2. At the add data step, we're forced to use the Script editor since data manager does not currently allow SQL statements:

  1. Create a connection to Google BigQuery using the provided connector, named Google BigQuery (marked in the following screenshot). Choose the Create new connection option and then select the Google BigQuery option:

  1. Click Sign In and be sure to disable the popup blocker on your browser:

  1. A Google account form will be displayed. Please log in with the appropriate Google credentials.
  2. A form with the Qlik Web Connectors (BigQuery) wants to access your Google Account message will be displayed. Please use the Allow option:

  1. A long string with a code will be generated. Copy this to your clipboard:

  1. Paste the string into the Authentication field of the Create new connection form.
  2. Click the Validate button.
  3. Click the Create Button.

The right-hand side of the screen will now contain a connection with a Google logo:

Press the small icon just beneath Google BigQuery so the Qlik Sense Script editor will add a line just after your script:

LIB CONNECT TO 'Google_BigQuery';
