Playing a DVD

When you play a DVD movie with Windows Media Player, whether it’s a commercial video or one you created yourself, you can view it in full screen and still have access to the play controls, or you can show it in the Media Player window, with access to even more controls.

Play the DVD

  1. Insert the DVD into your computer’s DVD drive. If the DVD doesn’t start, start Media Player from the Start menu, and, on the Library tab, click the DVD, and then double-click the disc to start it. If you’re not in Full Screen mode, press Alt+Enter.

  2. Move the mouse to display the controls.

  3. Click DVD, and change any settings you want:

    • Audio And Language Tracks

    • Lyrics, Captions, And Subtitles

    • Menus

    • Camera Angles

  4. Use the controls to stop, pause, go to the previous or the next scene, or adjust the volume.

  5. Drag the slider if you want to jump forward or backward in the DVD.

  6. If you want to use additional controls, click Exit Full Screen Mode, and use the enhancements available in the Full mode.
