Part Six

Additional Tasks in QuickBooks

Part Six covers features and tasks in QuickBooks that are more general in nature. These chapters cover information such as explaining how to keep your data secure and how to protect it from disasters. In Chapter 15, you’ll also see step-by-step instructions on how to maintain the integrity of the important financial information you track in QuickBooks.

In Chapter 16, you learn about using journal entries, special transactions that are used to make changes directly to an account without using a regular transaction (such as an invoice or check). Chapter 17 shows you how to share your company information with others, including your accountant. You’ll learn about how to make an Accountant’s Copy, a special copy of your file that allows your accountant to examine your books and make the necessary adjustments to your QuickBooks data and what you can do to prepare your QuickBooks data for year end. This part ends with Chapter 18, which is a blend of tips and solutions that may prevent some errors before they happen or help you fix errors that have occurred.
