4 Selections & Masks

An electronic stencil is one way to understand a selection or mask. We craft selections to prepare a section of our document for whatever next step awaits it. Masks, with simple shades of gray, allow us to hide images or visual effects where they shouldn’t be seen. Most often, we create masks from selections. In this chapter, we examine the reasons and methods to create both.
