About the Authors
Paula Dean is a Principal Instructor at Oracle University. She began her career as a PeopleSoft developer in 1996 and worked extensively with the product for the next 11 years. In that period she was involved in the initial implementation of the Financial install of PeopleSoft. Paula was a part of the upgrade team for multiple upgrades of the Financial and HCM products starting with release 6.5 through 8.44. She has first-hand, real-world experience in the field performing the upgrade process. She began teaching the technical PeopleSoft courses at Oracle University in 2007 and currently serves as the Lead Instructor for Upgrade and Data Management, SQR, and PeopleSoft Test Framework courses. She is also a presenter of PeopleTools topics at conferences such as Oracle OpenWorld, HEUG’s Alliance, and OAUG’s Collaborate.
Jim J. Marion is an AICPA Certified Information Technology professional who currently works as a Principal Sales Consultant at Oracle. He is the author of the Oracle Press book PeopleSoft PeopleTools Tips & Techniques and runs a popular blog for the PeopleSoft community at http://jjmpsj.blogspot.com. Jim is also an international presenter of PeopleTools development topics at conferences such as Oracle OpenWorld, UKOUG events, HEUG’s Alliance, Quest’s IOUG, and OAUG’s Collaborate.

Scott T. Schafer has more than 14 years of experience working with PeopleTools and PeopleSoft applications. Over the last five years, Scott has worked as a Product Strategy Manager in the PeopleTools development organization. Prior to working in PeopleTools development, Scott spent six years in the PeopleSoft IT group, implementing and upgrading, and integrating the internal PeopleSoft Financial and CRM applications. Scott has presented PeopleTools topics at Oracle OpenWorld, HEUG’s Alliance, Quest’s IOUG, and OAUG’s Collaborate. Scott graduated from Willamette University with a BS in economics and a master’s degree in finance from Golden Gate University.
