Part 3. Stateful applications

Part 2 of the book focused on how cloud-native applications work in OpenShift. Part 3 covers more traditional applications that need stateful storage.

In chapter 7, you’ll set up an external NFS server and use it to provide persistent storage volumes to OpenShift. You’ll then take that persistent storage and attach volumes that have already been deployed in OpenShift.

Chapter 8 focuses on how stateful applications work in OpenShift. We’ll go through examples using applications that require session persistence and specific startup and shutdown sequences.
