It is recommended to use CARTOframes in Jupyter Notebooks. In the example scripts later in this chapter, we'll be using the CARTOframes package with other geospatial packages, so you might want to install it in a virtual environment together with GeoPandas, so that you'll have access to its dependencies as well. Consult the installation guides for GeoPandas and other libraries in Chapter 2, Introduction to Geospatial Code Libraries. You can install the Jupyter Notebook app in a separate Python environment with the following command, in a terminal window:
