Chapter 7. Inter-Provider VPNs

Several requirements have resulted from the sudden growth in VPN deployments. One such requirement is that VPNs need to reside on different autonomous systems in different geographic areas or extend across multiple service providers. The MPLS Inter-AS feature plays an important role in making such a requirement as seamless as possible for the end customer. The MPLS Inter-AS feature allows an MPLS VPN to span service providers and autonomous systems.
