I would like to acknowledge the support of my four children, Lydia, Samuel, Chloë and Esther, in helping me make the time to write this book. I would also like to acknowledge the ongoing ground-breaking work of my standards-setting friends and colleagues in taking our understanding of the subject of the governance of IT further each year.

Ten per cent of the proceeds from the book will go to supporting the work of a trust for encouraging and developing Internet entrepreneurs (the Liz Dengate Thrush Foundation), and most of the rest will go to helping my supportive children pay off their student fees. Please give generously.
