Cordys

Introduction

Cordys is another workflow tool that allows automation of business processes and assembly of "mashup" web applications (the section devoted to Convertigo gave a short presentation of this category of tools). The exchange of information among team members can be structured and this will result in more reliable process execution. Cordys allows you, for instance, to build forms that participants in a processes can fill out, and then to monitor the execution of the whole process.

The recurring tasks that might benefit from such automation are numerous. Let us mention just the most usual ones: making expense reports, entering activity reports, applying for leave as well as all processes involved in checking or approving any of these.

The Google Apps are used here as building blocks of the system:

  • Google Spreadsheets circulate in a workflow
  • Applications are built using Google Sites
  • The integration of the various process tasks is implemented via Gmail
