This chapter has presented the main features of both communication tools from the Google Apps suite: Gmail and Google Calendar. Among the notable features of Gmail we presented: the labels that can be used to efficiently organize messages, the search tools, and the steady improvement of the service using the Google Labs that allow the most motivated user to test new features while they are still in an experimental stage. The Google Calendar tool is very much integrated with Gmail, namely through its notification and reminder services. Both services are designed to be accessible from anywhere on any channel. Both have simple and efficient privacy management.

2 Ajax is a technical solution for dynamic page loading that combines several open standards like HTML, DOM, or JavaScript. In particular, Ajax avoids reloading an entire page when only parts of it need to be refreshed.
