In the first couple of chapters of this book , we dealt with the most common protocols for data transmission. In this example, we will use MQTT. MQTT isn't the only choice for the I-IoT, but it has great support for HTTPS encapsulation. In the industrial sector, we normally have a plethora of technologies, such as MQTT, Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP), Open Platform Communications (OPC), and OPC Unified Architecture (UA), and we need to integrate all of these in a single data bus. In this example, we will use Mosquitto (https://mosquitto.org/download/) for frontend data acquisition and Apache Kafka (https://kafka.apache.org/) for data distribution.
