DBWR_IO_SLAVES (Oracle8 Only)
Values:0 to operating system dependent
Default:0
Specifies the number of I/O slaves the DBWR process uses to perform writes to disk and to simulate asynchronous I/O on platforms that do not support asynchronous I/O or implement it inefficiently. I/O slaves are also useful in database environments with very large I/O throughput, even if asynchronous I/O is enabled. For best performance, specify one DBWR_IO_SLAVE for each disk device used. This Oracle8 parameter replaces the DB_WRITERS parameter used in Oracle7.
