GIFTING YOUR CREATIONS

Celebrating graduations and achievements is what this book is all about and that means gifts and other treats! With a bit of creativity, you can make all kinds of items, both big and small. This section has some ideas to get you started, but they are only the beginning.

The projects in Cross Stitch Celebrations: Graduation show how to make specific projects, but any of the design combinations work well in a frame. You can make a custom project with a border, graduation pattern, and text, or simply choose a single design. No matter the size, a simple frame is a great finish.

A journal is always an excellent graduation gift, and you can customize a basic blank book by attaching a piece of cross stitch to the cover. This would also be great on the cover of a photo album or the guest book for a party!

Another gift that is always popular is a favorite or inspiring book. You can add a handmade touch to any book by stitching a bookmark. The single-line borders are perfect for this (especially the tassel!), but you could also stitch a name along with a mini motif. To complete the bookmark, trim the fabric to size and attach it to a piece of cardstock that’s 1/8" larger on each size.
