Chapter . Turmoil in Tibet

Though talks between the exiled Tibetan Dalai Lama and the Chinese government resumed again this year (with little progress made), the issue got more attention than it had in some time due to the media frenzy surrounding the Beijing Olympics. Protesters lined the Olympic torch’s path around the globe and made appearances at the games, while China made every effort to squash their voices. Cartoonists were mostly sympathetic to the Tibetan plight, nailing China for its human rights abuses.
