Chapter . Clemens Faces Congress

Major League pitcher Roger Clemens never took the mound in 2008, but that’s not to say he didn’t make any career-defining appearances. In February, Clemens took the stand before a Congressional committee to address allegations he took performance-enhancing drugs, leading many in the media to ask whether Congress didn’t have better things to do anyhow. Fallout included an FBI investigation into whether Clemens lied under oath, further tarnishing the pitcher’s image in the eyes of fans (and cartoonists).
