Exploring the Business Intelligence Center Site Template
SharePoint 2010 includes a new Business Intelligence Center site template, which is an evolution of the Reporting Center template in SharePoint 2007. The template acts as a starting point for BI and contains links to BI samples to get users accustomed to new BI features in SharePoint 2010. The template also contains predefined lists for Excel and performance point services, as illustrated in Figure 22.1.

Although the Business Intelligence Center site is primarily meant for your BI needs, Business Intelligence features are not restricted to the BI Center template and can be used in sites created with other templates as well. You can enable the required features in sites provisioned with other templates, as needed.
