Multiple Instances: May have different values, but it is recommended that identical values be used.

Specifies the default filename format for archiving redo log files in archivelog mode. Oracle appends the string generated from this format to the string specified in the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST parameter. LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT can contain the following variables:

Log sequence number

%t

Thread number

Using uppercase letters (for example, %S) for the variables causes the value to be a fixed length padded to the left with zeros. The following is an example of the specification of the archive redo log filename format:

LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT = "LOG%s_%t.ARC"
