COMMIT_POINT_STRENGTH
Values:0 to 255
Default:Operating system dependent
Specifies a value that determines the commit point site in a distributed transaction. The commit point site is determined by the node in the transaction with the highest value for COMMIT_POINT_STRENGTH. A database’s commit point strength should be set relative to the amount of critical shared data in the database. A database mounted on a mainframe, for example, ordinarily shares more data among users than does one mounted on a PC. Therefore, COMMIT_POINT_STRENGTH should be set to a higher value for the mainframe. In general, set COMMIT_POINT_STRENGTH to a higher value on machines that are more generally available.
