The following conventions are used in this book:
Used for script, file, and directory names.
Constant width
Used for code examples.
Constant width italic
In code examples, indicates an element (e.g., a parameter) that you supply.
In code examples, generally indicates Oracle keywords.
In code examples, generally indicates user-defined items such as variables.
In syntax examples, square brackets enclose optional items.
In syntax examples, curly brackets enclose a list of items; you must select one item from the list.
In syntax examples, a vertical line separates the items in a bracketed list.
