10. Sharing Your Movies
In this chapter, you find out how to share your movie or trailer with others. Topics include the following:

After you have created your movie, you might want to share it online or with a few select people via email.
Sharing Your Movie
When your movie is ready, you can share it with friends, family, or the general public.

What Are Tags?
Tags are essentially keywords included with your trailer that allow you to search for it on your computer more easily; but more importantly, tags enable people on the Internet to find your trailer using these tags or keywords.
Share via Email
1. Click the title text to edit the title if you want to change it.
2. Click the Description text to edit the description if you want to change it.
3. Click the Tags text to edit or add more tags.
4. Click the Size field to select the size of the video. The larger the size, the more disk space the video requires.
5. Click the Share button to select the recipients of the email and send it.
When you share your movie via email, iMovie warns you if the amount of space that the movie will require is greater than 10 megabytes (MB). This is because most email providers artificially limit the size of incoming email attachments to 10MB. To reduce the amount of space the movie will require, reduce the size of the movie as described in step 4.
Share to iTunes
When you select the iTunes sharing option, you put your movie into iTunes, which means you can then synchronize or watch it on many different devices (such as Apple TV, iPods, iPhones, and iPads).
1. Click the title text to edit the title if you want to change it.
2. Click the Description text to edit the description if you want to change it.
3. Click the Tags text to edit or add more tags.
4. Click the Size field to select the size of the video. The larger the size, the fewer older devices your movie will be able to be viewed on.
5. Hover your mouse cursor over the check mark information icon to see which devices your movie will be able to be played on.
6. Click the Share button to import your movie into iTunes.

4. Click the Size field to select the size of the video. It is normally best to always upload the largest size video to YouTube.
5. Click the Category field to choose the YouTube category for your movie.
6. Click the Viewable By field to choose who will be able to see your movie after you upload it to YouTube.
7. Click the Next button to enter your YouTube login and password and upload your movie to YouTube.

5. Click the Viewable By field to choose who will be able to see your movie after you upload it to Facebook.
6. Click the Next button to enter your Facebook login and password and upload your movie to your wall on Facebook.

5. Click the Viewable By field to choose who will be able to see your movie after you upload it to Vimeo.
6. Click the Next button to enter your Vimeo login and password and upload your movie to Vimeo.
Share to CNN iReport
You need your own CNN iReport account before you can share your movie on CNN iReport.
1. Click the title text to edit the title if you want to change it.
2. Click the Description text to edit the description if you want to change it.
3. Click the Tags text to edit or add more tags.
4. Click the Size field to select the size of the video.
5. Click the Next button to enter your CNN iReport login and password and upload your movie to the CNN iReport website.
Save Your Movie to Your Mac Hard Disk
With this option, you can save your movie in QuickTime format as a file on your Mac’s hard disk.
1. Click the title text to edit the title if you want to change it.
2. Click the Description text to edit the description if you want to change it.
3. Click the Tags text to edit or add more tags.
4. Click the Size field to select the size of the video.
5. Click the Next button to choose a folder where you want to save your movie.
Seeing Where Your Movie Is Shared
If you need to see where you have shared your movie, follow these steps.
1. Click your movie to select it.
2. Select Window, Movie Properties.
3. Click the Shared icon to view where your movie has been shared.
4. Click the arrow to be taken to your movie that has been shared to an online service like YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook.
