From the Horizon dashboard, routers can be created and managed within the Project tab:
From the Routers page, click on Create Router in the upper right-hand corner to create a router. A window will open that resembles the following:
Enter the name of the router, its admin state, and the external network. Click on the blue Create Router button to complete the operation.
To attach internal interfaces to routers in the dashboard, click on the router to reveal the Router Details page seen in the following figure:
Now, perform the following steps:
From within the dashboard, users can view a logical topology of the network based on the network configuration managed by Neutron. For this, you need to do the following:
Click on Network Topology under the Project tab to find a logical diagram based on the networks, router, and instances created earlier:
Letting the cursor hover over the router icon reveals a window displaying details about the router, such as the connected ports, IPs, and port status:
Floating IPs in the dashboard are managed on the Instances page under the Project tab. Click on the More button under the Actions tab next to the instance you wish to assign a floating IP to:
Clicking on Associate Floating IP reveals a window that allows you to manage floating IP allocations:
If there are no floating IP addresses available for allocation, click on the plus (+) sign to create one. A window will appear that allows new floating IPs to be created:
As floating IPs are procured from the allocation pool of external provider networks, only provider networks whose router:external
attribute is set to true
will appear in the list. Click on the blue Allocate IP button to allow Neutron to allocate the next available IP address:
Once a floating IP is selected, click on the blue Associate button to associate the floating IP with the instance. The instance details page will be updated with the new association:
