Summary

In this chapter, we've covered multiple ways to show information on the map so that your users can get a real sense of the data they are seeing and so that the map is interactive. We've gone over ways to handle mouse event using MVVM in such a manner that supports SoC. We've also discussed labeling, adding a legend and scale bar, and ways of working with map tips (overlays) by either using early or late binding. Finally, we've seen ways to show your location, which is a must for any modern mapping system.

In the next chapter, we're going to explain in more detail how to find, query, and identify features on the map using tasks that allow us to execute SQL-like expressions on layers.
