Time for action – looking at the jUDDI registry database

Let's take a look at the database, specifically the services that are registered. Luckily, JBoss AS provides us with an easy tool to view the database through a UI.

  1. Find the tool by going to http://localhost:8080/jmx-console.
  2. In the console, select the database=juddiDB,service=Hypersonic service. Remember that the OOTB database for jUDDI is Hypersonic.

  3. When the Database MBean properties are displayed, select the StartDatabaseManager operation and press the Invoke button:

  4. At this point the UI will open. Select File | Connect, and fill in the connection properties. The database URL should contain the same information as is displayed in the juddi-ds.xml file that we saw previously:

We'll explore the registry hierarchy after getting just a bit more background on ho JBoss ESB uses the registry.
