“Sometimes freedom is right under your nose, and you don't even realize it,” the Client said. The idea of “no mistakes” was giving him a sense of freedom that was opening up the conversation, he thought. “Thank you,” he told the Coach.
He shared the notepad, where he had written down what he had discovered.
31. There is always hope. Find it. Hope makes things easier .
32. Zoom out. Zoom out some more. Go upstream .
33. Don't make the impersonal personal .
34. You are “both, and” – a spiritual being and human being. Don't deny either one, if you want to make things easier .
35. What if there are no mistakes?
36. Release resentment. The universe is neutral. Can you be neutral too?
37. When in doubt, wait it out. New thoughts are on their way .
38. What would you do if you knew you were safe and comfortable? (You are enough) .
39. Slow down .
40. When tomorrow gets here, you will figure it out. Don't forget who you are!
41. Feeling safe, or feeling anything, is a state of mind. Not circumstances .
42. A goal brought into the present moment is called a value. Bring your future goals into the present moment. Why wait?
43. Write out how you see your values demonstrated, every day, in your life. Live your values .
44. What is unknown is much greater than the known. Discovery is where the fun is .
45. Planning from a place of pressure, worry, concern, or desperation doesn't make anything easier .
46. The truth will set you free. Because understanding what's true makes everything easier .
47. You don't need anything hairy and audacious to reach your goals. There's no oxygen on the moon .
48. Do the doable. It's the first step in creating the impossible .
49. Don't build up a myth and fall in love with your creation. See #47 .
50. Human beings are great at making stuff up. And solving real problems. Both are easy, but only one is effective .
51. Moment to moment, we figure it out. Come back to the now, and it all gets easier .
52. Success is always available. When we eliminate two words, success gets closer (those two words: by now) .
53. We do not have the Stopwatch of Success. Bending time starts when we realize how often we get the timing wrong. And that there's nothing wrong with that!
54. Stop “shoulding” yourself. Nothing is easier in a woulda-coulda-shoulda world .
55. Where you are is not who you are. Don't overidentify with your circumstances .
56. What you once called a mistake can now be called grace. Or don't even label it at all. That's easier .
57. “Start where you are. Do what you can. Never give up.” – Arthur Ashe
58. Discipline made easier: discipline is just remembering what you really want .
59. Be a resource. A generous resource that provides exceptional service. It makes it easier for others to see your value .
60. Life is service. Serve deeply, generously, and graciously .
“And I found one more,” the Client said. “I might just put this one at the top of the list.”
“What is it?” the Coach asked.
“You don't have to figure it all out.”
