Safety domain

The measures in this domain evaluate the safeness of hospitals for incidents such as adverse events and nosocomial infections. All of the measures in this domain are described in the later section on the HAC program (except for the PC-01 measure, which is described as follows):

  • AHRQ Composite (PSI-90): Please see the section on the HAC program for a detailed description.
  • Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI): Please see the section on the HAC program for a detailed description.
  • Central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI): Please see the section on the HAC program for a detailed description.
  • Clostridium difficile infection (CDI): Please see the section on the HAC program for a detailed description.
  • Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection (MRSA): Please see the section on the HAC program for a detailed description.
  • Surgical site infection (SSI): Please see the section on the HAC program for a detailed description.
  • PC-01 – Elective delivery prior to 39 weeks completed gestation: Guidelines recommend that pregnancies are delivered as close as possible to 40 weeks.
