MTS_SERVICE
Synopsis
Values:Service name
Default:NULL
Sets the name of the service to be associated with the dispatcher (e.g., prod). Users may use this name in a connect string to connect to an instance through a dispatcher. Oracle always checks for such a service before it establishes a normal database connection. The name specified should not be enclosed in quotation marks, and it must be unique. If not specified, this parameter defaults to the value specified by DB_NAME. If DB_NAME is also not specified, the Oracle Server returns an error at startup indicating that the value for this parameter is missing.
