Specifies the data assignment semantics of character datatypes. When BLANK_TRIMMING is set to TRUE, data assignment of a source character string or variable to a destination character column or variable is allowed, even though the source length is longer than the destination length, if the additional length over the destination length is comprised of all blanks. When set to FALSE, the data assignment is not allowed if the source length is longer than the destination length.
