Sun Remote Services
The Sun Remote Services Net Connect software enables you to detect and record events on systems remotely. This remote monitoring enables timely resolution of problems before productivity is impacted. This package requires installation of the Sun Management Center software as a prerequisite.
Through a Sun Remote Services (SRS) agent, the management server becomes the gateway to access the cluster nodes for service or upgrades. Since the management server is a central repository of the system logs, error messages that impact any of the cluster members trigger an action from the SRS site (FIGURE 4-1).

The SRS agent is configured at the customer site to provide specific contracted services. The SRS agent provides three basic functions—general service provision, event and alert service, and security services. The SRS relay and service layer aggregates and associates all agents at the customer site.
