There are many different governance guidelines developed or evolved to support secure and compliant operating environments in the cloud. Depending on the industry vertical, critical data requirements, or external compliance demands, companies have options on how to enhance their base cloud landing zone. Even for organizations that do not fall into a specific industry or compliance requirement, aligning one or more of these governance guidelines will ensure strict adherence to internationally recognized hardening of cloud computing resources and will help with internal audit processes of control mapping. A few important governance guidelines and models for deploying compliant workloads in the cloud are outlined here.
