Regional SI partners

Regional SI partners are popular with companies that operate in a specific geography or region, since the partner will usually have all the resources located in that area. Often considered strategic partners with senior executive relationships, these partners will help the customer define their strategy and execute specific projects with customer resources. They will usually have a mix of deep technical experts and enough scale to be able to execute large and complex projects for the customer, which would include project management, technical architecture, development, and testing. As with all partners, regional SI partners are often focused on specific verticals, technologies/clouds, or other areas that enable them to differentiate themselves. They are also very responsive to customer needs and can make the difference between success and failure with a cloud native journey. An example of a regional SI partner helping customers on their cloud native journey is Slalom.

An anti-pattern for using a regional SI partner is their ability to support global initiatives that require potentially thousands of people or having a super-long-term strategic view of the company.
