When I look at my photos, especially when reviewing them for the first time, it’s impossible for me to be a passive observer. Yes, I enjoy seeing the people and places that inspired me to make the photos in the first place, but I also compare the images to what was in my head while I was capturing them. Maybe I set my white balance wrong and want to warm up a cloudy scene, or perhaps the framing wasn’t exactly what I intended (I’m looking at you, pokey little branches on the edges that I didn’t notice through the viewfinder!). If Lightroom mobile were just a photo viewer, I’d have to squelch my inner editor and wait until I could make those adjustments in the desktop version of Lightroom. Fortunately, I can appease that annoying editor. The app includes many of the adjustment tools you’re accustomed to using in Lightroom’s Develop module. And after I make the changes, they’re synced automatically to the desktop.
