James L. Rommens’ Acknowledgements

I am very much grateful to Rex Black and humbled by the opportunity he has given me to coauthor this book. Writing a book has been one of my dreams; little did I know, after connecting with some friends in my network list in December of 2015, where I noted my part-time teaching work and interest in writing a book, that Rex would immediately contact me to help write a portion of this book. I learned a lot over the past year regarding the publishing process and how truly difficult yet satisfying the experience can be. In fact, as Rex would note, I’ve contracted the writing bug, with an interest in future writing projects, based primarily on my experiences working on this book. And so, I am very much indebted to Rex for taking the chance and allowing me to fulfill one of my dreams. I had known Rex for several years while I was the testing liaison within our project management office where I formerly worked. It was through Rex’s courses that I was able to study for both the Foundation and Advanced Test Manager exams and often encouraged others at work to pursue them as well.

I would also like to thank Leo van der Aalst, our coauthor, for helping me to learn more about Agile and for providing helpful hints on metrics.

I also am indebted to my wife, Cynthia, and our four daughters, Lauren , Nicole, Kristen, and Kaitlyn, who have put up with me holed away while working on this book and other work-related projects. Thank you, ladies; I love you all.

My dogs, Grace, Michael, and Mina, have also been patient but, as long as they get food and attention (generally in that order), they are happy.

Lastly, I thank God for providing everything I needed to contribute in a small way to this book.
