Mathematical Modeling and
TV Analysis of Hybrid Electric
Vehicles
e TV of the powertrain is one of the primary sources for vibration and noise of the vehicle,
which has a significant impact on the vehicle NVH performance. In order to reduce the TV
and noise of the hybrid vehicle, it is significantly necessary to carry out the TV modeling and
analysis of hybrid vehicle drive train [6572].
e automotive powertrain is a complex TV system and an important source of vehicle
NVH. e TV of the drive train is an important form of vibration of the vehicle. It is cou-
pled with vehicle longitudinal vibration, the TV of the axle suspension system, and the bending
vibration of the drive train, which result in complex vibration and noise problems. It is thus
of great theoretical and practical significance to study the TV of automotive transmission sys-
tems [7380].
e most significant difference between a hybrid vehicle and a conventional ICE vehi-
cle appears in the transmission system. Since the hybrid vehicle has multiple power sources, a
power coupling device is used to couple multiple powers, and the power of each power source
is allocated through control. e power coupling is part of the core of a hybrid vehicle, and its
performance directly affects the performance of the hybrid vehicle’s power, vibration, noise, and
comfort. e research carried out in this part is based on the compound planetary row deep
hybrid vehicle developed by Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. e powertrain structure mainly in-
cludes engine, TV damper, compound planetary row device, two motors, reducer, differential,
half shaft, and the wheel. e compound planetary platoon is the power coupling and power
splitting device of the hybrid vehicle, which is the core part of the hybrid powertrain and is a
mutated Ravigneaux structure. After the engine and the dual motor are coupled by the com-
pound planetary slab, power is transmitted to the wheels via the ring gear, reducer, differential,
and half shaft to drive the car. When the excitation frequency of the engine or motor is equal
to the natural frequency of the TV of the drive train, the drive train will resonate, and the force
of the relevant components, especially the composite planetary row, will increase significantly,
and also directly affect the NVH of the hybrid vehicle and comfort performance. erefore, it
is necessary to perform TV analysis of the composite planetary power split-type hybrid vehicle.
