Plug your soldering iron in, and set the heat setting to the mark shown in Figure 1-4 (pointing at the 3 o’clock position on the dial). Give the iron a couple minutes to warm up.
Warning
The iron will get very hot, and certainly hot enough to burn you. Don’t touch the tip and don’t touch the tip to anything other than solder or components you are soldering together.
